“I have been running since 1982 and club running since 1985, I have competed in more than 250 races including marathons. I qualified as a run leader in the summer of 2011 and formed the Scraptoft Joggers in June 2012.”
Baz continues to be an inspiration to many runners of all abilities. His commitment to helping and encouraging new runners is evident in the growth of Scraptoft Joggers and the improving abilities and ambitions of many SJ members is a direct result of this.
Despite the years she still loves running and can still outrun some of the younger SJ members. She started running 30+ years ago, notching up lots of half marathons and a full marathon. She stopped for about 15 years, only taking up running again about 8 years ago. Since then, she has run races of all different distances including London Marathon. Sue joined SJ soon after it started and is very committed to encouraging and supporting beginners within the Club, always adapting routes and distances to suit whoever comes each week. She qualified as a Run Leader in 2014. In 2015 Sue will again be tackling the London Marathon, with a secret dream to beat her time of 5 years ago. No pressure!
Gracie has been running with Scraptoft Joggers since the group first formed in 2012 and is one of the most popular, and excitable, members of the group on training nights. Gracie likes to lead from the front, so often heads up the faster group.
She is also the one, least likely to be be panting at the end of the run!
